Advanced Dental Technology – Commack, NY
Creating More Efficient Experiences
Silfa Dental is pleased to provide advanced dental technology in Commack. These solutions allow us to create more efficient and comfortable experiences for patients. With a fully digital workflow and updated equipment, our team can ensure greater accuracy during treatment planning while also keeping individuals in a more comfortable state.
Digital Smile Design
Digital Smile Design (DSD) allows both Dr. Silfa and the patient to view more predictable results before treatment begins. A handheld device scans the teeth and gums and projects a 3D image on a chairside monitor. Various shapes are placed over the digital image so that patients can visualize what the results will look like when finished.
CT/Cone Beam Scanner
When complex procedures are required, our CT/Cone Beam Scanner uses its 360-degree rotating arm to capture hundreds of images that come together to create a three-dimensional model. Displaying nerve pathways, blood vessels, and various oral and facial structures, we can better plan for dental implant placement, root canal therapy, and more invasive methods of treatment.
Digital Impressions
Our digital dental impression system eliminates the need for messy dental putty and instead produces accurate and precise models that can be used to create customized restorations. Scanning the teeth with a handheld device, our in-house lab can easily work to fabricate a dental crown, veneer, or bridge and ensure a proper fit.
Soft Tissue Laser
Our soft tissue laser delivers a more comfortable approach when removing infected or excess gum tissue. Used to eliminate “gummy smiles” as well as target harmful bacteria that are attacking bone and surrounding tissues, its ability to cauterize while it cuts minimizes bleeding and swelling while also reducing the chances of infection.
Intraoral Camera
As a handheld, camera-tipped device, our intraoral camera shows patients what is occurring inside their mouths. Whether it is cavities, gum recession, or a serious infection, Dr. Silfa can discuss the problem area while patients see it for themselves. This allows for a more thorough discussion of the importance of good oral hygiene and why certain treatments are required.
