Dr. Silfa has known he has wanted to be a dentist for a long time. He loves to make people smile and discovered a career path in which he could directly do so on a daily basis.
The doctor earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic in 2003. While there, he was involved in extensive research studying the relationship between cardiovascular disease and gum disease. Following his return to the U.S., he completed his three-year post-graduate residency from 2009-2012 at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and spent the next year as a Chief Resident at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
He has remained up-to-date on the latest developments in his field including those in cosmetics, Invisalign, and implant dentistry. He also remains active in the dental community as a member of the American Dental Association.
In his free time, Dr. Silfa enjoys dancing, working out, learning new things, and spending time with his family and children. He also likes to run and is currently training for his first triathalon.
In pursuit of the American dream, Dr. Publio Silfa arrived in New York on January 1, 2003, armed with a mere 53 dollars and an unwavering determination. Undeterred by his limited resources, he embarked on a journey to build a successful career as a dentist, following in the footsteps of his family's legacy. Dr. Silfa is a proud third-generation dentist, carrying on the tradition that his predecessors had established.
